Don't make these 9 mistakes when starting your business

See my lessons below:

As a ''seasoned'' entrepreneur with experience in starting 2 companies and investing in 10+ successful ventures, I would like to share the top mistakes that I've seen and personally made, to help guide you towards success on your journey.Below are 9 lessons that I learned throughout the last 10 years building over 100M in total sales.

  • 1. Choose a co-founder who is truly exceptional.

Don't settle for just anyone. Your co-founder should be one of the best people you've ever met, someone who possesses not just technical skills or sales prowess, but also the qualities of greatness.

  • 2. Pick a co-founder who shares the same level of commitment.

Even the strongest of partners may leave when the going gets tough, so make sure you choose someone who is equally committed to seeing it through, every step of the way.

  • 3. Conduct thorough customer interviews.

To truly understand the needs of your customers, you must speak to at least 20 to 30 of them. You'll be surprised by how much you can learn and how your perspective may change.

  • 4. Plan for the long-term.

How will you make it to the 24-month mark and beyond? Make sure you have the resources, strategy, and drive to reach your first inflection point and continue growing.

  • 5. Know your competition.

There's always competition, no matter how unique your idea may seem. Don't let a false sense of security hold you back, always stay informed and ahead of the game.

  • 6. Have a plan to acquire your first 10 customers.

Don't rely on them finding you, have a clear strategy in place to attract and retain them.

  • 7. Choose your funding sources wisely.

Raising funding is never easy, especially in the early stages. Make sure you're talking to the right people and not wasting precious time and energy.

  • 8. Move with purpose and speed.

Time is of the essence in the world of startups. Get your first version out, attract your first customers, and keep pushing forward.

Use this checklist as a guide as you embark on your entrepreneurial journey, and you'll be on your way to success in no time!Let me know what you think and hit ''reply'' - Cheers,
